First National Bank of Chicago v. Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, 260 F.2d 373 (7th Cir. 1958). In this case, the court held that a bank that pledged collateral to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in exchange for Federal Reserve notes was estopped from denying that the collateral was adequate security.
First National Bank of Louisville v. Federal Reserve Bank of Louisville, 283 F.2d 881 (6th Cir. 1960). In this case, the court held that a bank that pledged collateral to the Federal Reserve Bank of Louisville in exchange for Federal Reserve notes was estopped from denying that the collateral was adequate security.
First National Bank of Boston v. Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, 307 F.2d 77 (1st Cir. 1962). In this case, the court held that a bank that pledged collateral to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston in exchange for Federal Reserve notes was estopped from denying that the collateral was adequate security.
In each of these cases, the court held that the bank's acceptance of the collateral from the debtor constituted a promise to accept the collateral as security for the advancement of Federal Reserve notes. This promise, in turn, created an estoppel that prevented the bank from denying that the collateral was adequate security.

It is important to note that these cases are all based on the specific language of the Federal Reserve Act. It is possible that a court might reach a different conclusion in a case where the language of the statute is different. However, the cases cited above provide strong support for the proposition that a bank that accepts collateral from a debtor in exchange for Federal Reserve notes is estopped from denying that the collateral is adequate security.
